Mentored new TAs during fall quarter each year. Assisted with lesson planning and quiz preparation. Helped resolve questions and problems.

New TA Mentorship Program Coordinator: Fall 2002-Spring 2003

Paired experienced TAs with new TAs to encourage support and cooperation among all TAs in the department.

Guest Speaker in Spanish 490 Class: June 2003
Presented “Spanish III Web-based activities” to teach TAs how to apply them in their classrooms.

Standards for Exams: Fall 2002
Created Standards to ensure more uniform testing and align the sections and points for all Spanish 1-6 midterms and finals.

Guest Speaker in Spanish 495 Class: November 2002
Presented “Time Management” to help new TAs balance their teaching responsibilities with their scholarly endeavors

Spanish IV Digital Program, Community Outreach: Summer 2003 and Summer 2004
Received a grant from the Office for Instructional Development (OID) for the creation of an instructional digital program for Spanish IV. Created the Web-based Program described above

Volunteer as Spanish-speaker for Channel 34: September 2003
Answered viewers’ questions and concerns regarding the California recall election.

Learning Assistance Program
Volunteer Tutor: 1994-1996
Responsible for tutoring Spanish and Mathematics. Duties included student assessment, development of personalized lesson plans, and other related assignments.
